St Bridget’s Church in Chelvey Road is making some records and interesting stories available to view before they are transferred to Somerset Heritage Centre in Taunton. Among the contents of the Armada Chest is a cowbell which was rung for the induction of a new rector in 1942. More details can be found in the North Somerset Times.
North Somerset Archives Service
The North Somerset Archive Service offers easier access to services for people who live North Somerset, and an archivist visits the Local Studies Library at Weston Town Hall on a roughly quarterly basis in order to:
– help people find out about the past, with information on how to find out about family, house and local history
– provide information on the archives held at the Heritage Centre (in Taunton)
– bring microfiche for people to study, and documents from the archive strong rooms when appropriate
